What Is An RSS Feed?
RSS stands for "Really
Simple Syndication," a format which allows you to download up to
date information from any website offering RSS or XML feeds.
If you haven't already done
so, the first step is to download an RSS reader or aggregator. These can
either run online, or on your desktop, depending on the reader. When you
see an RSS feed that you want, simply click on the orange RSS or XML button,
or the link to the RSS feed, and then copy the URL into your RSS reader.
The reader will then periodically check for updates to the RSS feed, and
automatically post them to your reader.
RSS is a handy way to keep
up with updates to your favorite site. RSS feeds won't get blocked by
spam filters, like e-mail, and if you decide you no longer want the RSS
feed, simply delete it from your reader.
