Brown
the bison in a large skillet, seasoning with a bit of salt and pepper. Drain the meat, put it into a soup kettle.
Add the rest of the ingredients, and stir.
Simmer over medium low heat for 1-2 hours.
Ladle
into bowls and serve with a sprinkling of chopped onion and/or grated cheese.
