Baked Brie Recipe
1 puff pastry sheet, thawed.
1 8 ounce Brie cheese round.
4 Tbsp preserves. I like apricot or raspberry.
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
Carefully unfold the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface.
Spread 2 Tbsp of the preserve over the center of the puff pastry, covering an area about the diameter of the cheese.
Place the brie cheese round over the preserves, and cover with the remaining 2 Tbsp of preserves.
Fold the pastry over the cheese to cover, and press to seal. Place seam side down on a baking sheet.
Bake for 25 minutes, remove and let stand for 20 minutes before serving.
Serve on a plate with crackers.
This baked brie recipe is extremely simple to make, but it looks impressive at parties. If you like, you can use different preserves, or sprinkle the brie with some chopped almonds for a variation in texture. Take note, that some people like to remove the rind of the brie while some leave it on. The rind can have a pretty strong flavor, so taste it before you make this, and decide for yourself. This baked brie recipe is also good with camembert cheese instead of the brie. Another thing you can do to make this baked brie recipe look even more impressive is to cut out some designs from another sheet of puff pastry, and place on top of the pastry that you wrap the brie with before baking.
